Rains Department Store, a fixture in the village for more than 100 years, contains everything imaginable from clothing to accessories to items for the kitchen and your outdoor garden. Rains is centrally located in the Arcade, with dozens of great shops, restaurants and galleries just steps outside its doors.

Bart's Books, an Ojai landmark, is a great place to make discoveries and chat with the locals. After hours, the honor system kicks in when buyers can simply slip money into a slot for their purchase of new or used books.
Looking for souvenirs? A stop at
Made In Ojai is a must. This combo artist collective and gift shop features locally made olive oils, teas, lavender lotions, honey and hand made soaps, as well as books and music by local talent, fine art prints, pottery and gemstone jewelry.
